A Wiltshire police officer has been sacked after allegations about remarks made to colleagues were upheld at a misconduct hearing.
The hearing concerning Police Constable 70572 Tony Walsh was chaired by Assistant Chief Officer Craig Holden and concluded on 10 June.
The panel considered three allegations relating to highly inappropriate comments.
It was alleged that PC Walsh made comments to colleagues that were homophobic and racially discriminatory in nature while off duty.
Following the hearing, the panel found all three allegations proven.
It concluded that PC Walsh had breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to discreditable conduct and authority, respect and courtesy.
As a result, PC Walsh – who was based at Chippenham – was dismissed without notice.
Under the Police Conduct Regulations 2020, PC Walsh has ten working days to appeal the outcome.
