A Wiltshire man has died in a horror crash ‘involving car and tractor’.
Emergency services raced to the scene in B3092 Mapperton Hill, between Mere and Milton on Stour, at around 9.15pm on Friday (29 September).
The fatal collision happened just south of the Wiltshire border, in Dorset – sparking a signiciant 999 response, including Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
A man, aged in his 20s, from Wiltshire – believed to be travelling in a car – was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.
The driver of the other vehicle – thought to be a tractor – did not sustain any physical injuries.
The road remains closed for forensic collision investigation work.
Pc Tracey Downer, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family of the man who has very sadly died in this collision.
“We are conducting a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of the incident and I would urge any witnesses to please contact us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything relevant on dashcam footage.”
