UPDATE: Man arrested in Marlborough after bomb threat called into GP surgery
Two GP surgeries have been evacuated following a serious security alert.
Police were called to Kennet and Avon Medical Partnership practices in Pewsey and Marlborough at around 3pm today (Wednesday).
The buildings have been evacuated and officers have cordoned off areas to ensure public safety as searches are carried out.
It’s understood a male phoned the surgery and made a bomb threat, sparking an urgent police response.
In a statement, the medical group said: “Unfortunately it has been necessary to evacuate the Marlborough and the Pewsey surgeries.
“If you have an appointment in the next hour or so, please don’t make the journey to either site.
“The telephones will not be answered. Many apologies. Thank you for your patience.”
