Wiltshire Air Ambulance has landed for a serious medical incident in Swindon.

Two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle could be seen parked in Carr Street, behind Power Lounge, at 11.30am this morning (10 February).

Three police cars – including a roads policing unit – were in attendance, but only to provide support to the ambulance service.

The yellow and green helicopter touched down in The Park, off Faringdon Road, shortly before midday.

A police car arrived and moments later blue-lighted the critical care team to the scene.

The patient was taken to Great Western Hospital by land ambulance, with the helicopter heading there to collect the crew at about 12.30pm.

Wiltshire Police has confirmed the incident is medical-related and not a police matter.
