Firefighters have helped remove a patient from the first floor of a house near Warminster.

Paramedics called on the fire service for assistance in bringing the elderly casualty down a flight of stairs at a property in Norton Road, Sutton Veny, at around 8.30am.

A single fire crew from Warminster attended the scene, removing the patient from the first floor to the ground floor of the house using a vacuum stretcher.

They were later conveyed to hospital by South Western Ambulance Service.
