A van driver has been arrested for a string of offences after a crash in Trowbridge.
Police responded to reports of a road traffic collision in Frome Road at around 11pm yesterday evening (Thursday, 19 December).
A van reportedly impacted another vehicle on a roundabout before leaving the road and ploughed into a garden wall.
The van driver left the scene before officers arrived – and a search was carried out.
The suspected driver, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, failing to provide a Drugwipe sample for analysis and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
The man was further arrested for assaulting an emergency worker while being assessed at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
