A van was destroyed by fire on South Marston Industrial Estate in Swindon yesterday.

Firefighters from Stratton were called to the scene in Hunts Rise at around 7pm, where on arrival they found the vehicle well alight.

Further assistance was requested, and a crew from Swindon provided a water supply.

“Crews used two breathing apparatus wearers, one hose reel jet and a mainline to extinguish the fire which unfortunately had destroyed the vehicle”, a fire spokesperson said.

The fire is believed to have been caused by electrical fault.
