Three people – including a 14-year-old boy – have been arrested after two fights broke out.
More than 25 police officers responded to the scene of the incident in Penhill at around 4pm yesterday afternoon, following reports of a serious disorder.
Police were initially called to an fight in Downton Road, but a short time later while officers were on scene, another disorder occurred in nearby Shalbourne Close.
One police officer was assaulted during the incident, but wasn’t seriously hurt.
A number of weapons were seized, including a baseball bat, several metal poles and a sickle.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, a public order offence and assaulting a police officer.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
They are all from the local area and remain in police custody.
