Two women have been arrested after a man was stabbed at a house in Swindon.

Emergency services responded to reports of casualty with knife wounds at an address in Seymour Road, Walcot, at around 8.20am today (Monday).

A man, aged in his 30s, was found to have sustained stab wounds to his leg inside the property.

Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance was tasked, landing on the field outside Lainesmead Primary School – before the charity’s medics jogged across Queens Drive to the scene.

The injured man was taken to the Great Western Hospital for treatment. Wiltshire Police say that his wound is “not thought to be serious”.

Two women, aged 36 and 33, have been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm. They were taken into custody for questioning.

Officers guarded the house ahead of forensic investigation work, which was carried out later in the day. The cordon has since been lifted.

At the time, the force said there was “not believed to be any wider risk to the public”.
