Two people were left trapped in an overturned car on the A345 this morning (Saturday).
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle road traffic collision in Clench Common, located three miles south of Marlborough, at around 11.20am.
The driver of a silver Mercedes hatchback lost control whilst navigating a sharp bend, leaving the carriageway and hitting a fallen tree.
The impact resulted in the vehicle overturning – leaving a man and woman left mechanically trapped inside.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters from Pewsey and Swindon attended the scene, extricating both casualties by stabilising the car and removing its roof.
Both the man and woman were taken to hospital for treatment after sustained injuries described as non-life threatening and non-life changing.
At the height of the incident, emergency vehicles lined the road. Two fire engines, two ambulances, ambulance cars and numerous police vehicles were at the location.
The busy A345 was closed between Marlborough and Oare whilst 999 crews responded and the vehicle was recovered. It reopened at around 3pm.
