Two teenagers seriously assaulted in Swindon in the early hours of this morning are out of hospital.
The 16-year-old girl and 18-year-old man suffered what police described as “potentially life-changing injuries” in a knife attack in Affleck Close, Toothill at just after 1am.
Despite earlier reports, it’s understood a machete was used – not a screwdriver as stated by a neighbour.
The female victim suffered a severe slice wound to her hand, whilst the male victim sustained stab and slice wounds to his face and head in the assault.
Both patients have left hospital and are recovering at home, but there are worries the 16-year-old casualty will lose some fingers as a result of the hand injury.
