Two people have been killed in a collision on the A350 yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the former cement works junction between Yarnbrook and Westbury at around 4pm following reports of the serious collision.

The collision involved a black Ford Mondeo and a HGV; both male occupants of the Ford died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services.

The Ford was well alight when 999 crews arrived at the scene.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “The scene has been passed to the local authority, who will be co-ordinating clearing and cleaning the road ready for reopening.

“Did you see either vehicle near the crash location around the time of the collision? Were you driving in the area and may have dash cam footage which could assist our enquiries?

“We want to speak to anyone who might have information and would urge them to call Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting Log 249 of yesterday. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
