Two men have been arrested in Cricklade after a serious assault in a restaurant.
Police raced to reports of a disorder breaking out at Chutney, which serves Indian food, in High Street at around 6.30pm yesterday (Saturday, 18 January).
Rumours were rife online, with many suggesting that a stabbing had occurred – however, this was not the case.
Wiltshire Police today (Sunday) confirmed that nobody sustained stab wounds in the incident.

The disorder involved two people, and two men – aged 52 and 54 – were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
Speculation also suggested that the two men were employed as chefs at the restaurant.
The force said that both suspects remain in custody for questioning.
Officers remained at the scene until late on Saturday, with forensics on site to gather evidence. The crime scene is believed to have been lifted.
