Two suspected hare coursers have been arrested in the Wiltshire countryside.
Officers responded to a 999 call reporting possible poaching ongoing in the Burbage area this morning (Thursday).
Two males were subsequently arrested in connection with the incident, and remain in custody.
Witnesses reported seeing approximately eight police vehicles parked in a layby along the A388, where it’s believed the arrests were made.
Officers from Devizes and Amesbury response teams and officers from the Amesbury Neighbourhood Police Team attended the scene.
Hare coursing is a type of hunting which involves dogs chasing hares, often with the purpose of betting.
It is illegal in the UK under the Hunting Act 2004, which made it an offence to hunt wild mammals with dogs.
