Two casualties have been airlifted to hospital after a major crash on a Wiltshire route.
Emergency services responded to a serious road traffic collision on the A30 near Salisbury at around 3pm this afternoon (Monday).
Further details are unclear, but the incident happened near Firsdown and close to Figsbury Ring – a neolithic and Iron Age site.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Wiltshire Air Ambulance were deployed to the scene.
Medics treated at least two casualties. One was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital, the other was flown to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
The road is expected to remain closed between the A338 and Firs Road in Firsdown for the foreseeable future as 999 crews deal with the incident.
