Two air ambulances touched down in a field following a ‘major’ crash in Wiltshire.
Emergency crews rushed to reports of a road traffic collision, believed to involve two cars, on the A3098 near Dilton Marsh at around 4.30pm this afternoon (Tuesday).
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was first to land nearby, followed by Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. At least four ambulances, paramedic officers and a fire engine were also in attendance.
Wiltshire 999s understands that multiple people have sustained serious injuries – with two people taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, the closest major trauma centre, for urgent care.
The road is expected to remain closed – between the A36 and the roundabout with Tanyard Way/Clydesdale Road – for several hours for collision investigation work.
Wiltshire Police is expected to provide a full update tomorrow (Wednesday 12 April).
