Castle Place shopping centre has lost part of its roof as Storm Eunice takes hold in Wiltshire.
Emergency services have closed part of Trowbridge town centre following the incident, which left debris in the street this morning (18 February).
Market Street is understood to be closed in both directions whilst 999 crews work at the scene.
The piece of roof, along with tiles, landed close to pedestrians.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We have received a report of damage to a roof in Trowbridge town centre so emergency services are on scene clearing the area.
“Roads may be closed while this takes place.”
Whilst the two rare red weather warnings do not cover most of Wiltshire, an amber warning for wind is in force.
The Met Office says “Storm Eunice may cause significant disruption due to extremely strong winds”.
Within the warning, residents are told there is a strong possibility of damage being caused to buildings, with a risk of rooves being blown off.
“There is a good chance that flying debris could result in a danger to life”, the warning reads.
