Swindon Borough Council is set to review the licence of Tree Nightclub due to Wiltshire Police’s serious crime and immigration concerns about the venue.

The license review application states the grounds are:

1. For knowingly employing persons who are unlawfully in the UK or who cannot lawfully be employed as a result of a condition on that person’s leave to enter the UK; and

2. The premises has been the location for a number of crime and disorder incidents since it opened in August 2016. These incidents include grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm, racially aggravated public order, criminal damage and drink and disorderly incidents.

It’s understood that the review will take place in December, where the popular Old Town nightclub could lose its licence and be forced out of business.
