There is traffic chaos in Royal Wootton Bassett after a trailer overturned in the road.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Nore Marsh Road at around 11.30am today (Thursday 1 September).
Two fire engines and several police vehicles are in attendance.
The road, the junction with Station Road, is currently closed to motorists and pedestrians.
No one’s believed to have been injured, but cables were brought down across the road and the trailer, carrying straw, load its load.
It’s not yet clear how long the road is expected to remain closed for, but the recovery operation is likely to last several hours.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that Nore Marsh Road in Royal Wootton Bassett has been closed due to a lorry shedding its load of straw bales at the junction with Station Road.
“Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and expect delays. We will update when the road reopens. Thank you for your patience.”
