Three people have been seriously injured in a crash in south Wiltshire yesterday afternoon.
The three-vehicle road traffic collision happened at around 3.25pm yesterday, Wednesday 6 June, on the A338, about 300m north of Tidworth.
A black Ford driven by a 19-year-old local man collided with another black Ford Fiesta and white Ford transit van, which was carrying a passenger. It is believed that the second Fiesta had slowed for a 4×4 vehicle, which had in turn slowed for a cyclist.
The first Ford Fiesta, driven by the 19-year-old man, then collided with both the second Ford Fiesta and the white van, which was travelling in the opposite direction.
The 19-year-old man and the male driver and female passenger of the van were all taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The road was closed for a number of hours while emergency services dealt with the incident and cleared the scene.
PC Leigh Mayhew, from Tri-Force Specialist Operations, said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area and saw any of the vehicles involved either at the time of or shortly before the incident to get in touch. We would also like to speak to the cyclist and the driver of the 4×4.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Mayhew at Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
