Three children are among those involved in a head-on crash in Calne.
999 crews were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A4 in Quemerford at around 1.50pm this afternoon (Wednesday).
It’s believed the vehicles involved – a blue Honda CR-V and a blue Nissan – impacted head-on, causing significant front-end damage.
Firefighters were forced to remove the roof and doors from the Nissan due to concerns over the level of injury sustained by one of the occupants.
Both the driver and passenger of the Nissan were described as “elderly”, while the Honda contained a woman and three her grandchildren.
Everybody involved, including the children, have been taken to hospital for further assessment. However, they are not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
The road is closed in both directions between the turnings for Blacklands and Compton Bassett – but is expected to reopen by around 6pm.
Witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, are asked to contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101 quoting log number 124 of today’s date (10 April).
