A teenager’s dad was fined after his son breached the lockdown laws by being out with his mates.

Police officers stopped a red Ford KA in the Royal Wootton Bassett area last night, discovering three men and a 15-year-old boy inside – all thought to be from different households.

The three males over the age of 18 were issued with Fixed Penalty Notices for breaching the Coronavirus Act, but the under 18’s father picked up the £60 fine for the youngster.

The 15-year-old is also being investigated over the alleged possession of cannabis.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Please be aware that if a child breaches the restrictions it is their parents who are reported and will receive the fine.

“Thank you to everyone who is abiding by the restrictions and for all of the positive messages and comments. They are much appreciated!”
