A teenage cyclist has been rushed to hospital with a serious head injury this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Liden Drive, on the roundabout with Sedgebrook, at just before 2pm today, where a silver BMW was involved in a collision with a cyclist.
The cyclist, understood to be a teenage boy, was taken to a specialist hospital in Bristol.
The road was closed for four hours while specialist officers from Wiltshire’s Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and carried out their in-depth investigation.
A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 1.44pm about an incident in the area of Liden Drive, Swindon.
“We sent an ambulance crew and two other paramedics to attend the incident. A male patient has been transported by land ambulance to hospital with a suspected head injury.”
All emergency left the scene by 6pm, the road reopened at around 5pm.
