A 17-year-old driver is fighting for his life following a crash in Wiltshire.

Emergency services were called to the serious road traffic collision on the A362 near Warminster late yesterday evening (Tuesday, 10 September).

The incident involved two vehicles – a Volkswagen Polo and a Mercedes E350 – in Corsley Heath.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was deployed alongside local ambulance crews.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a 17-year-old boy, suffered life-threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital – where he remains in critical condition.

The driver of the Mercedes and a passenger in the Volkswagen suffered reportedly minor injuries.

The road remains closed this morning (Wednesday) for forensic collision investigation and recovery work. It’s likely to reopen around midday.

Witnesses or anybody with information or dashcam footage are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log 317 of 10 September. Alternatively, email the team directly on [email protected].
