A Swindon woman who stole cash from a retirement village has been sentenced.
40-year-old Stacey Kinsella, of Ashbury Avenue, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft.
According to prosecutor Abbie Winters, the defendant worked at The Fairways Retirement Village in Chippenham when she stole £1,045 on 30 March 2024.
She then stole a further amount – £1,705 in cash – on 12 April 2024.
At Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 5 January, the mother avoided a prison sentence.
Instead, District Judge Joanna Dickens imposed a compensation order.
Kinsella must re-pay just £1,000 of the stolen funds at a rate of £50 per month.
