A Swindon woman has been charged with killing a man in a drink-drive crash.
Paul Morton was seriously wounded after the Audi A3 he was passenger in collided with a tree in Kingsdown Road on Saturday 17 June last year.
Despite the best efforts of medics, including critical care specialists from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, he died at the scene.
Following an investigation into the cause of the crash, 50-year-old Paula Rendell has been charged with causing death by careless driving while over the prescribed alcohol limit.
It’s alleged that the defendant, of Abbey View Road, Moredon, had 99 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes.
Rendell is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Wednesday, 3 April).
