South Swindon supermarket closed following ‘major break-in’ overnight

Waitrose is closed this morning following a ‘major break-in’ overnight.

Local residents have said on social media that the police helicopter was overhead in the early hours of this morning, possibly related to this incident.

A spokesperson for the store said: “We’re grateful to the police for their swift response and will continue to support them with their investigation.

“We’re working to open the shop for our customers as soon as possible.”
