A convicted stalker breached a restraining order by repeatedly contacting his victim.

32-year-old Michal Prawdzik was sentenced at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday) after previously pleading guilty to the serious crime.

Prosecutor Kate Prince said the defendant, of Burden Road, Tadpole Garden Village, “breached [the order] almost immediately after it was imposed” on 13 September.

He liked a post on the victim’s business Facebook page, emailed her, sent her WhatsApp messages asking to meet for a coffee and then attempted to phone her mother on two occasions.

Ms Prince said the woman was to move on with her life and is scared Prawdzik he’ll never stop. She said the victim has been suffering from depression as a result.

Mark Glendenning, defending, said his client didn’t realise the seriousness of his offending.

He said the defendant accepts he was persistent in contacting her but was not abusive or threatening.

Magistrates gave Prawdzik a “final chance”, imposing a second community order including 25 rehabilitation activity days and 120 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay court costs and a surcharge.

His restraining order was extended from one year to five years – and will now include the victim’s mother.
