A Swindon predator who sexually abused a young girl has been caged for 21 years.
Damian Kinston was found guilty of a string of serious offences against a child – including rape.
The repeated sex attacks started when the youngster was aged just seven years old.
“Kinston is a sexual predator who repeatedly subjected his victim, who was only seven when the abuse began, to horrendous sexual assaults with the only purpose to fulfil his own sexual gratification” DS Vaughan said.
Adding: “Despite being found guilty at the trial in September, Kinston has shown no remorse for the suffering he has caused.
“Today’s result is the justice the victim in this case deserves. She has shown such bravery and courage throughout this case, it is truly commendable, especially given her young age.
“I want to thank her for reporting this to the police and for remaining so strong and resolute throughout the investigation.
“I really hope today’s sentencing will help her begin to move forward in her life, knowing that she has not only got justice for herself, but she has been instrumental in preventing others from coming to harm.”
The defendant was jailed for 21 years at at Swindon Crown Court on Monday (18 November). and will remain registered as a sex offender indefinitely. A restraining order was also imposed, prohibiting contact with the victim.
