Police in Swindon are investigating an incident whereby a Asian man asked two young girls -aged 8 and 9 – to ‘come to his car’ near a underpass in the Dorcan area.

The worrying incident took place at around 5pm on Monday 22 May, in the square between Bowleymead and Stubsmead and near to the underpass to Dorcan Way.

An unknown man said to them: “Can you help me with something in my car?”.

The girls had the sense to say no and started to walk back to one of their home addresses – the male then disappeared. No car was seen and it is unknown where the male went.

The girls said that the man was hanging around for about ten minutes before he approached them and they didn’t see him with anyone else.

He’s described as being Asian in appearance, in his 40s, of average build and height with short, dark hair which was thick on top and stubble on his face. He was wearing a black leather jacket and jeans.

PC Cassey Evans said: “The young girls were very sensible and reported it straight away.

“We are conducting enquiries and need to speak to the man regarding his actions.

“If you recognise this man’s description or have any information about this incident, please call us.”
