A Swindon nightclub has announced it’s closure after being forced to kick clubbers out early when bailiffs attended the premises in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Medina closed its doors for the rest of the morning when officials arrived at the Theatre Square venue to collect unpaid rents that were amassed, according to a source.
The club reopened for its final night of trade on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
In a statement on Facebook, a club spokesperson said: “Sorry [day] today it’s been decided to close Medina, we have really enjoyed being part of the Swindon nightlife for last few years but due to increasing overheads, licensing conditions and poor location and the massive impact running medina takes out of our private life’s we don’t feel the venue could be sustainable.”
