A Swindon man’s died in a single-vehicle collision near Avebury this morning.
Emergency services were called to reports of the serious crash in Beckhampton Road, between Beckhampton Roundabout and the junction with Longfields, at around 6.30am.
The driver of a silver Renault, a 37-year-old man from Swindon, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Road closures are currently in place around the A4 and on the B4003 to West Kennet. The closures are expected to remain in place until later this afternoon.
Wiltshire Police is appealing for anyone who might have witnessed the incident to contact them on 101 quoting log number 30 of today.
