A man accused of running a drugs line in Swindon has been remanded in custody.
Joel Lester, 27, appeared before magistrates this morning on several charges of drug dealing class A and B substances, including crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis.
It’s the Crown’s case that Lester had a ‘significant role’ in the running of drugs line Tall Pete.
He was arrested when police raided an address in Dulverton Avenue, Park North, yesterday (17 March). Officers are said to have found 100 wraps of class A drugs in a sweet tin, along with £1000 in cash.
It’s also claimed officers found an unregistered pay as you go mobile phone which can be linked to him through CCTV footage of him topping it up with credit at a shop in Welcome Avenue.
The prosecutor opposed bail for the defendant, of Clive Parade, over fears he would commit further offences. Lester’s solicitor didn’t offer a defence.
Due to the seriousness of the charges, the case was adjourned to Swindon Crown Court on 16 April with Lester remanded in custody ahead of the hearing.
A 31-year-old local woman was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A and B drugs and child neglect. She has been released under investigation.
