A gym member died during a workout as emergency crews rushed to the scene in Swindon.
Police officers and paramedics were sent to the incident at PureGym in Hyde Road shortly before 5am this morning (Thursday).
The man, in his 40s, collapsed on the site, sparking fellow gym members to start first aid and attempt to save his life.
South Western Ambulance Service attended the scene and despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead.
“We can confirm that very sadly a member died at our PureGym Swindon Stratton club early this morning”, a PureGym spokesperson said.
Adding: “The individual was assisted by fellow members and the police and ambulance services attended, but unfortunately despite their best efforts he passed away.
“We extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends.”
Wiltshire Police confirmed the man’s sudden death, adding that the force’s “thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time”.
