A domestic abuser has been remanded in custody over attacks on his partner.
Leon Vernon pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm when he appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Monday (26 February).
The 34-year-old defendant, of Somerford Close, Penhill, injured the woman – then his partner – during an incident in 2020 and again on 12 February this year.
Due to the seriousness of the violence, District Judge Joanna Dickens sent the case to Swindon Crown Court. A pre-sentence report was ordered.
He was remanded in custody until his sentencing hearing on 5 April.
In an unrelated case heard on the same day, Vernon pleaded guilty to assaulting a man on 25 June last year. The victim was awarded £200 in compensation.
