Police are continuing to probe the a stabbing on a cycle path in Swindon.

A teenage boy was stabbed in an attack on Route 45, between Westmead Industrial Estate and Shaw Forest Park, shortly befre 6pm yesterday (Monday, 24 July).

Investigating officers have since revealed that a second teenage boy sustained injuries after being struck in the face – and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The knifed boy was rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by land ambulance after receiving treatment from Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Great Western Air Ambulance medics.

Wiltshire Police say his injuries are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening but he remains in hospital at this time.

It was reported yesterday that the incident happened in Shaw Forest Park. This is incorrect, it took place on the Route 45 National Cycle Network path linking Westmead with Thamesdown Drive.
