Police have cordoned off a large part of Salisbury after a suspicious device was found.

A silver tin and what appears to be wiring could be seen attached to Salisbury Law Courts this morning (Wednesday, 3 August).

Police are currently attending the serious incident, with the bomb squad expected to arrive in due course.

On Twitter, there is speculation about the item being a potential explosive device, and writing scrawled on the building, reading “Justis not”.

In a vague statement, Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that Wilton Road in Salisbury and the surrounding area has been closed due to an ongoing incident.

“Seek alternative routes to avoid delays.”
