Suspected thieves have been arrested in a takedown on the A350 in Chippenham.
Armed police and Operation Fortitude officers, assisted by roads policing officers, boxed in a car on the major route at around 3.45pm yesterday (Thursday, 27 July).
The move – which saw the vehicle come to rest on the grass verge surrounded by unmarked police cars – came after the driver reportedly tried to escape.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that three men, aged in their 40s and from Wolverhampton, were arrested on suspicion of theft.
One of the suspects – the driver – was also arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police.
All three have been bailed as the investigation continues.
