A man has suffered serious injuries in a crash in Amesbury overnight.
Emergency services were called to two-vehicle road traffic collision in Countess Road at around 11.30pm last night (01 October).
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance attended the incident alongside fire crews, after a man in his 20s was found to be medically trapped in a black Audi.
The casualty suffered serious pelvic injuries and was taken to hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle involved, a black BMW, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
The 35-year-old man is currently in custody at Melksham Police Station.
The road was closed to allow collision investigation enquiries to be carried out and was reopened at around 8am this morning (02 October).
An investigation is now ongoing and police would urge anyone with information, including anyone who might have dashcam footage that could assist their enquiries, to call 101, quoting reference 54210096027.
