A teenage boy was been seriously injured in a knife attack in Swindon this morning.

Wiltshire Police says a 16-year-old was taken to hospital following an incident in Queen’s Drive in the early hours of today (6 November).

The youngster was rushed to hospital after being assaulted by an assailant with a blade at around 12.15am.

The victim is said to be in a stable condition and his injuries are not described as life-threatening or life-changing.

The suspects – wearing black clothing and balaclavas – were seen leaving the area on electric pushbikes following the violent crime.

The force did not confirm where on the two-mile stretch of road the incident took place.

Detective Inspector Megan Kenzie said: “This was an extremely concerning attack and it was a matter of luck that the young victim was not more seriously hurt.

“We do not believe that this was a random attack and there is no wider threat to the community.

“We urgently need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen this incident take place or knows who the suspects might be.

“Wiltshire Police CID is investigating this serious assault with all the resources at their disposal. If you have information that could help bring the offenders to justice please contact us.”

If you know who might be responsible or were in the area at the time, please call police on 101 quoting incident 3 of today (06/11).

Alternatively, you can leave information anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
