Wiltshire Council has closed a road near Devizes after it flooded this evening.
The A342 between the town and Lydeway has been shut for the safety of motorists and isn’t expected to reopen for at least two hours.
The flood appears to be in the area of The Clock Inn, with one vehicle stuck within it.
A council spokesperson said: “The A342 at Lydeway is currently blocked due to a vehicle being stuck in the flood water.
“A tanker is en route to assist but if you can avoid the area please do so and please take extra care if you’re out and about during Storm Alex this evening.”
In Bradford on Avon, emergency flood defences have been deployed due to the river level risk posed by Storm Alex.
