A man and his puppy were injured during an attack involving another dog in Devizes.
The incident happened at around 3pm on Sunday 12 October in the Drews Pond area.
The man, aged in his 20s, was walking with his four-month-old red Labrador when a brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier, which was off its lead, ran directly at them.
The dog bit the puppy on the leg and latched on, prompting the man to intervene. He was bitten on the hand while trying to separate the dogs.
Connie Vines, the injured man’s partner, said: “It was a really frightening and upsetting incident.
“The Staffy was off-lead and suddenly bolted away from its owner, making a beeline straight for our pup.
“My partner was bitten while trying to separate the Staffy, who had latched onto our puppy’s leg.
“Thankfully both my partner and our puppy are fine.”
The owner of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is described as a woman aged between 40 and 60 years, short in height and of medium build.
She had a tanned complexion and shoulder-length blonde hair.
