Detectives are appealing for information after a car was stolen from an address in Marlborough.
The theft took place on Wednesday morning, 16 May, when a house in Taskers Lane, Burbage, was broken into and car keys stolen from inside. A silver Mercedes ML 350 with the registration number ‘KV11 KWG’ was then stolen from outside the address.
At approximately 10.30am, two vehicles were seen to pull up in Cherry Orchard. One was a silver Mercedes ML 350 and one was a dark coloured vehicle. Two men got out of each of the vehicles and were seen spraying the Mercedes with what is believed to have been cleaning fluid before driving off – it is not known in which direction.
Detective Constable Cerys Powell said: “We believe the vehicle which was seen being sprayed in Cherry Orchard is the stolen vehicle from Taskers Lane in Burbage.
“We are conducting enquiries in the area and are keen to speak to any further witnesses who may have seen the Mercedes pull up in Cherry Orchard, as well as anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity in Burbage on the morning of 16 May.
“We understand there were four men involved – one was wearing a smart white or blue shirt and dark trousers. He had fair hair and was approximately 6 ft tall and of medium build. It’s believed he was aged in his late 20s.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
