A lorry has crashed into a low bridge in Swindon town centre this evening.

Police are currently attending the scene in Corporation Street following the collision at 4.30pm.

It’s understood Network Rail are en-route and may temporarily stop trains while they assess any potential damage to Whitehouse Bridge.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “The road is currently closed inbound to the town from the Cocklebury Roundabout. Outbound traffic from Station Road may still pass with care.

“The road will be closed for around 90 mins.”
