Several people have been injured in a hit and run in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Bincknoll Lane at around 7pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, 5 September).

A blue Ford Fiesta impacted a silver Kia Picanto on the roundabout for Interface Business Park.

The occupants of the Kia, and the passenger of the Ford, sustained injuries in the head-on crash.

Ambulance and fire crews attended the scene, treating several casualties.

The driver of the Ford fled the scene on foot, according to Wiltshire Police. Searches were carried out using a drone and a police dog but it’s not clear if any arrests were made.

The road was closed for about an hour before the vehicles were recovered.

The force is asking witnesses or anyone with information to phoning 101 quoting reference number 54230093691. Alternatively, report online anonymously through the Crimestoppers website.
