Police have closed the A303 as they respond to a welfare concern this afternoon.
The main road is closed between Amesbury Services and Countess Roundabout as officers deal with an incident – involving a distressed person – on a footbridge crossing the carriageways.
Wiltshire Police is asking motorists to “seek an alternative route” whilst emergency services attend the scene.
South Western Ambulance Service is also in attendance.
