UPDATE: Christmas Day murder: Elderly woman dead and woman, 63, arrested
A serious incidents has sparked a huge 999 response in Devizes this Christmas Day.
Emergency services were called to Keepers Road at around 8am this morning (Thursday).
Two air ambulances – Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance and Great Western Air Ambulance – were scrambled alongside three ambulances and an operational commander.


At least one person has sustained serious injuries. They have been taken to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol for urgent care.
There were around two dozen police officers on scene. Among them were firearms cops in four armed response vehicles and four detectives from Melksham CID.


The incident happened in a upstairs flat, with the block cordoned off as a crime scene.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We have set up a cordon following a serious incident inside a flat in Keepers Road, Devizes.
“There is no threat to the wider public. We will issue a further update when appropriate.”
