A serious crash has closed the busy B4696 near Swindon this afternoon (Friday).
Emergency services were called to a four-vehicle road traffic collision in the Lydiard Plain area, north of Royal Wootton Bassett, at around 3pm.
Great Western Air Ambulance was among the 999 crews in attendance.
Numerous patients have been taken to hospital for urgent care. At least one person has sustained significant injuries.
The road is expected to remain closed until tomorrow morning (Saturday, 16 March) as a complex forensic collision investigation is undertaken at the scene.
The closure is between the B4042 Brinkworth Road and the Braydon Road crossroads.
