UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in crash with car on A350 junction near Lacock

A serious crash has closed a major route near Chippenham this morning (Tuesday).

Emergency services were called to the A350 at Lacock following the road traffic collision at around 5.45am.

At least two ambulances and approximately ten police units were spotted attending the incident.

There are significant travel delays for motorists travelling through Melksham and Chippenham this morning.

The road is expected to remain closed between Lackham and Beanacre throughout the rush hour. Mons Lane, into Lacock from the A350, is also closed by police.

People travelling through Lacock can exit the village via the Whitehall Garden Centre junction, but not via Melksham Road.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that closures are in place on the A350 at Lacock to the Leekes roundabout north of Melksham following a serious road traffic collision.

“Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and to be aware of delays in the area.

“We will update once the road has reopened. Thank you for your patience.”
