Savernake Forest has been cordoned off for most of the day following an incident.
Police have launched an urgent investigation after they received a report relating to a person’s welfare this morning (Tuesday).
Concerns were raised by a third party in Marlborough, with officers deployed to the popular woodland beauty spot a short time later.
Savernake Forest was cordoned off as searches were carried out in the area. There appeared to be a focus on an orange Dacia parked on the site.
Locals reported seeing up to ten police vehicles on scene, including a dog unit.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed they are “investigating following a third party report of a welfare concern”.
They added: “Our enquiries remain ongoing.”
The force said that a cordon was set up in the car park, but has since been removed.
